Mundo Arte Gallery presents Under the Circus Tent, a thought-provoking solo exhibition by artist Marilyn Valiente, curated by Fernando Fernández, on view starting September 20, 2025. The opening reception will take place on September 20, from 6 PM to 9 PM, at 1746 NE 163rd St, North Miami Beach, FL. Free parking is available at the adjacent furniture store.
In Under the Circus Tent, artist Marilyn Valiente presents a powerful body of work that challenges contemporary political dynamics. Using the metaphor of the circus, she reflects on the absurdity and volatility of the current socio-political landscape. As the artist states, “Fear and outrage have become common,” urging viewers to question whether this spectacle we inhabit is indeed our reality. The ongoing erosion of morality and integrity among leaders and institutions reveals a distorted political scene detached from the true needs of society. As collective interests grow increasingly complex, we find ourselves immersed beneath the big top of a circus.
Valiente adds, “This exhibition is my response to the current political climate, the economic fluctuations, the endless wars, the genocide, and the emotional turmoil we all endure.”
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marilyn Valiente
Born in Cuba and based in Miami, Marilyn Valiente bridges abstraction and reality in her work, addressing themes of human struggle, spirituality, and resilience. With a background in both art and psychology, she explores the repetition of patterns—whether mental or narrative—translating them into layered compositions rich in vibrant color, texture, and symbolic text. Now a full-time artist with a studio at Miami International Fine Arts, her work unfolds as a visual dialogue on transformation and identity.
