Jorge Rodríguez Diez (R10) (1969) is a Miami-based Cuban artist. R10 creates decodable poster-like paintings using nostalgic imagery from the 1950s. As a trained graphic designer, he begins with a clear idea, concisely communicated yet purposefully ambiguous; at times satirical and sincere, he uses layers of meaning so the viewer can choose what they are seeing and what the images reveal. Works by the artist have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Spain, France, China, Germany, and South Korea, including several solo shows in the United States, Cuba, Spain, and Norway.
