Edel Rodriguez (1971) is a New York-based Cuban-American artist. Personal history, religious rituals, politics, memory, and nostalgia inspire his work. Rodriguez graduated with honors in painting from Pratt Institute and received an MFA in painting from Manhattan’s Hunter College graduate program. He has created over a hundred covers for TIME and The New Yorker magazines and several stamps for the U.S. Postal Service. He has received numerous awards from The AD’s Club and The Society of Illustrators. He published “Worm: A Cuban American Odyssey.”
