Collection: Kiseok Kim

Kiseok Kim, originally from Korea and now based in New York, leaves his artistic fingerprint everywhere he goes. Drawing inspiration from real people, he scours the web for ideas that spark his creative process. In his studio, these ideas evolve through Photoshop into meticulously crafted artworks.

Using oil for figures and sometimes employing acrylic stencils for backgrounds, Kiseok imbues his subjects with personal significance. Each object and person depicted reflects his emotional connection to them.

“The portrait does not render a specific person; the figure in my work represents an idealized being. I aim to strip away facial expressions, creating a sense of stillness and simplicity. My compositions emphasize flat surfaces and minimal spatial depth, using contrasting colors or patterns to evoke tension,” explains Kiseok (2022).

Kiseok Kim's approach invites viewers into a contemplative space where simplicity and depth intertwine, offering a unique perspective on human presence and emotional resonance in art.
